Solar Eclipse Could Be Dangerous To Pregnant Women

August 21, 2017 where it has been announced about the Solar Eclipse would take into place in the United States. News feeds are flooding with information about the excitements and preparations to watch the Solar Eclipse which will happen after the first total eclipse to occur in the United States since 1979 and the first to cross from coast to coast in 99 years.

It is absolutely amazing to witness such incredible view in the sky, however for some reasons; it could also be dangerous to pregnant women. I have never came across or never found to any article that could prove this thought, so I would consider this, as a superstitious.

My grandmother told us to hide when eclipse is passing especially if pregnant.

To an ordinary person who watches the eclipse might go blind or there would something could affect to the eyes, I think there is truth about this because most people who wish to watch the eclipse are wearing eclipse glasses.

Eclipse glasses Eclipse Glasses is said to be the only safe way to look directly at the eclipsed or partially eclipsed sun with special-purpose the solar filters.

To pregnant women who wished to watch eclipses should wear not only eclipse glasses but also a black veil to cover the whole head. This will protect the baby inside when the eclipse's lights passes through our head. In addition, wearing of black dresses to cover the whole body could also be helpful for the baby to be safe.

preg.png In some superstitious beliefs, pregnant woman who does not wear any of these might harm the baby. Pregnant women might deliver the child prematurely, abnormalities of the baby or worst the baby might die. There is NO study or proof on this but nothing could harm for prevention. Some says, pregnant women shouldn't watch eclipses and better stay inside the house either, and wait for the next eclipses to come.
